1 Bedroom House in Selah
Private upstairs space in our 5300 sqft 5-bedroom home built in 2008. The Guest Suite has one bedroom with living room, spacious bathroom with oversized shower, and a kitchenette. Keyless entry access to upstairs suite is through the main house mudroom (no private entrance, just private inside 15-step staircase). This area of about 600 sqft is over the garage and completely private for guests once upstairs.
THE SPACE
The Guest Suite bedroom has a queen-size mattress & cozy linens, nightstands, dresser, and a desk. The comfortable living room has a full-size futon couch, eating area, accent chairs, & a Smart TV. Bedroom and bathroom each have a locking door. Since this is an upstairs space, please note there is NO door or gate on the stairs so not ideal for small children. There is only a privacy curtain at the top of the stairs. The landing area has a kitchenette with a mini fridge/freezer, air fryer, and microwave. There is single-cup Keurig & stocked coffee bar with some extra storage space; hallway leads to open living room. Ample sized bathroom includes linens along with toiletries, hair dryer, and clothes iron provided.

Our non-smoking home is at the end of a quiet safe dead-end street along with 15 other houses. We’re up on a ridge that allows for a stunning panoramic view of the valley from Naches to Selah; we can even see the tip top of Mt Rainier from the back deck.
We live in the rest of the house! The youngest of our four kids is the only one still living at home while attending and playing baseball at the local college. The downstairs daylight basement is where the rest of the secondary bedrooms are so most likely won’t hear much from down there but will most likely hear us in the kitchen/living room on the main level. Since the guest space is over the garage, the big doors are audible when they open & close. No other rooms in the house are rented. We’re always available for messages or questions and we will personally interact as much or as little as guests prefer.
GUEST ACCESS
Curved sloped driveway can be difficult to turn around in with extra vehicles so parking will be on the street, but guests may load/unload in the driveway. We’re finishing up landscaping in the backyard so it’s not so pretty right now, but the front yard is fully landscaped. There is a half-bath powder room at the mudroom entrance that guests may use (shared) but the only other shared space besides the mudroom entrance will be the covered decks in the front and back of the house that have seating areas to enjoy the view. Guests will pass through the main level kitchen to access the back deck.
No cooking access in the main kitchen but there are both reusable & disposable dishes and utensils provided in the suite. Any used/soiled kitchenette items or towels can be placed in the storage bins provided to be cleaned after check-out.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
No pets with guest rental but there are two neutered male cats in the house (Julius & Teddy) that are kept out of the guest suite. If you happen to see them, it’s okay to let them in or outside the house if they ask.
Guests can expect quiet hours from 10pm to 6am during weekday stays. We both work full-time during the week, occasionally from home.
There are no security cameras onsite.
No daily room service. Room is cleaned after checking out. Fresh towels & trash removal can be arranged for stays longer than three days. We do the cleaning and changing of all linens, no need to strip the beds before checkout.
We are open to discounts & custom agreements with more amenities for extended stays. We’ve hosted long-term tenants in this space in the past. Let’s chat!
