Positive: Comfortable Beach House for 6 This home is a great spot for a family with children. The master suite is very spacious and well appointed, with a (softish) king size bed, sitting area, fireplace, and bathroom with 2-person tub and fireplace. Parents will find a great retreat here. Children will find the other 3 bedrooms comfortable: one room has a futon bed with thinnish mattress, another has a queen on a (squeaky but charming) metal frame, and the fourth room with a daybed will be perfect for anyone under 5’6”. The trundle underneath would also suit a child, but alas, only 6 people are allowed to stay here. The spacious living area/great room is furnished with classic beach striped IKEA couches and chairs, and while the slip covers would improve with a little laundering, this is, after all, a beach house! The room is filled with games, videos, puzzles, books, a Bluetooth sound system, and more, and kids will enjoy the space. The wood dining table seats 8 (but alas, only 6 people are allowed to stay here!), and the fully furnished kitchen sports some high end Viking appliances, as well as a quiet Bosch dishwasher (bring your own soap—there was only 1 pod available for us to use). Also bring your own Tupperware, foil, or plastic baggies for left overs if planning to cook. The downstairs game room will entertain children, featuring a space invaders arcade game, basketball, table pool, tv, sound system and darts. It’s very cool in the summer, and includes another galley kitchen with a popcorn maker and milkshake blender! The 3rd bathroom is downstairs (it didn’t have any toilet paper, but a call to Vacasa resulted in a prompt delivery), and has a shower stall.

Negative: The upstairs bathroom includes a high clawfoot bath tub w/shower head, which children will enjoy, but adults will find it challenging to stand between the narrow shower curtain walls. The decor is beach casual fun, although the white flooring rugs could also benefit from a good bleach/laundering as well. A quick application of WD40 would also take care of the squeaky door and avoid waking others during nighttime bathroom visits! Although there are decks on the back levels, they don’t inspire confidence, and are nearing the end of their lifespan, which is a pity, as the sunset views are lovely. There isn’t an outdoor space on the property to sit or congregate in as a group, although the large driveway accommodates 4 cars easily. Lastly, you’ve no doubt read that the property has no WiFi. That’s either a plus or minus depending on your intentions, but we probably shouldn’t be coming to the beach to get on our devices! In all, this is a good home base for a family with up to 4 children, and while we 6 adults enjoyed our stay, we all wished we had the master suite :)
