Today the village is still centred around the beautiful St Alkelda’s church, which dates back to the 12th century, and the well-known landmark of the domed chapel at the famous Giggleswick School, which dominates the village skyline. Giggleswick itself has two pubs, Harts Head Hotel, and The Black Horse Inn, whilst a wide range of amenities can be found in the nearby market town of Settle, possible to reach on foot.
