Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Food was good and the room was comfortable. We ate in the hotel on 2 evenings. and found the food to be better than the other local hotel we tried. It was perhaps unfortunate that the dinner menu did not go up until late in the day and a number of items were off the menu when we sat down to eat. Having said that, it would have been good not to have chips with everything. The hotel was also very happy for us to have our dog with us throughout the hotel. The staff were very keen to help and we found them to be friendly and effective

Negative: There needed to be better attention to detail. We had to ask for our 2 rooms to be serviced on 2 days. When we returned from our days out nothing had been prepared in the rooms. The hotel is clearly in a state of refurbishment and we were content with that, but some cleaning would have made a difference. For instance the front door needed a coat of paint and the doorstep in to the hotel was not swept. The bushes at the door needed pruned to avoid seed heads catching clothes

Summary: Overall we very much enjoyed our stay. Location was great
